A group comprising Commissioners and staff, along with Island leaders and professionals, is developing an Island-wide Climate Resilience Plan with strategies to adapt to climate change impacts in the coming years. The Task Force is also working to develop a master plan for energy, with a goal of eliminating greenhouse gas emissions on the Island by 2040.

Vineyard Sustainable Energy Committees
Island-wide initiative on Martha’s Vineyard, MA, uniting local town energy committees to create a unified, sustainable energy plan, promote renewable energy projects (like community solar and EVs), reduce fossil fuel dependency, and enhance energy resilience for the entire island, coordinating efforts beyond individual town boundaries.
Town Climate Advisory Committees
The Climate and Energy Advisory Committees are appointed to assist the Town’s Select Board in carrying out the vision and initiatives to implement the Town’s strategies for energy conservation, clean energy, green community initiatives, and energy sustainability planning. You can contact your town’s committee through the information on your town’s website.
